Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of therapy do you offer?
I offer couples therapy, individual therapy for adults, and premarital counseling.
What do you specialize in?
I specialize in working with couples who feel like they have lost the connection they used to have through conflict, communication challenges, trust issues, or infidelity. I also specialize in working with individual adults who are looking for help with anxiety or relational issues.
I’ve never done something like this before. What can I expect?
You can expect to have someone in your corner, helping you find relief, connection, and growth. You can expect a safe space to process difficult or challenging experiences, relationships, or emotions. You can expect me to work hard to provide you with the very best service I can to help you reach your goals. If you feel a little nervous or uncertain about starting therapy, that’s normal. I do my best to create a safe space to put your nerves at ease as you try something new and vulnerable.
The first session will be about getting to know you. We will review what’s bringing you to therapy, figure out what your goals for therapy are, and make a plan to reach those goals. As we continue meeting, we will work together on your journey towards mental, emotional, and relational health.
How much does a session cost, and do you take insurance?
Each 50 minute session costs $160.
I do not take insurance so that I can provide you with the best treatment possible based on my clinically-trained assessment, rather than the one-size-fits-all limits on type and time-frame of therapy that insurance companies require. Insurance also usually does not consider couples therapy to be a “medical need,” and therefore, does not cover many of the services I provide. However, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for possible partial reimbursement as an “out-of-network” provider.
Do you do online sessions or in person?
Both! I am happy to provide sessions in whichever form you feel most comfortable using. In person sessions take place at Johns Creek & Alpharetta Counseling. Virtual sessions take place through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.
